The Anakot Kumar (AK) is the Local Non-Governmental Organization (LNGO) was formerly an international organization named (SKIP) and fully localized from SKIP organization as local NGO since January 2003. AK is a non-political, non-religious, non-profit and works to enhance the poor and extremely poor to better lives through community development, livelihood improvement, local good governance and build the capacities to cope with difficult conditions surrounding their lives.
AK is committed to work with absolute poor in the remote areas through partnering with local government for such village authorities, commune councils and district authorities and also works with local community such Community Based Organizations (CBOs)/Village Associations (VAs); Village Disaster Management Groups (VDMG), Forestry Committee (FC) and successful local actors. It has a mission to serve the long term sustainable community development and social development needs through the empowerment of people, children, youths, women and vulnerable groups to engage with their government to protect their rights and provide for their needs. And to working together with all national and international institutions to promote capacity of reliance and climate change, local good governance, social accountability and children rights in Cambodia.
This document is the abbreviated version of the organization’s efforts through a series of meetings and consultations among operational staff, management staff and boards with additional guidance led and facilitated by the external consultant to review and convert the existing operational plan into the five years Strategic Plan 2019-2023. It provides a framework for the AK to continue to makes a sustainable contribution to community development, livelihood improvement, local good governance and social development in Cambodia leading towards poverty reduction and coping with climate change. It also supports the successful implementation of the Government’s National Strategic Development Plan and the 10 years National Program for Sub-National Democratic Development 2010-2019 by establishing and maintaining mutual trust, build capacity and strengthening communication and cooperation among national and sub-national and civil society organizations.
The strategy’s full implementation will, however, depend on the continued provision of appropriate support and resources, a strong commitment of donors, a climate of sharing resources among partners and the political appreciation support.
